Petes Ice Cream and Donuts: Fresh, Allergy-Friendly Treats in Orange Beach, AL

$8.50 for regular ice cream (2 scoops)!!! But, they were so so good, especially, the sorbets. We don’t get to try the donuts since they weren’t ready but I’m sure they’re great also. This place is definitely worth trying.

Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten! Such a cool set up and great customer service. SO happy to see dairy free options. Our baby got to try ice cream for the first time because of Pete’s! Definitely the best vanilla I’ve ever had! Loved the cherry pie and chocolate too!

We visited Gulf Shores for spring break as we often do, but had never tried this place. Needless to say, we will be back every year if I have a say! The ice cream is made fresh throughout the day, and we even got to see some being churned while we were there! The servings are very generous, and the waffle bowls taste house made as well. I had 2 flavors, strawberry and coconut, and they were divine. The flavor and texture were amazing. I’ll be dreaming about that coconut flavor until my next visit. My daughter has a dairy allergy, so we ordered her one of the sorbets. I think it was raspberry lemonade. She was napping when we were in the shop, and the lady who took our order offered to pack her sorbet in a styrofoam cup and keep it in the freezer until we were ready to leave. That was very thoughtful and helpful for sure. She also pulled out a fresh batch of mint chip when my husband mentioned that they didn’t have his favorite flavor. I asked him if he meant mint chip, and he said yeah, and next thing we knew she was pulling out a fresh batch for him from the freezer. It was the best mint chip we’ve ever tasted. The fact that the shop was clean, the health score was 100, service was great, AND the ice cream was delicious is unheard of these days. Thanks to the establishment as a whole for making our quick little trip that much more amazing. Till next year!

Absolutely amazing!!! Not only do they have the best ice cream I have ever tasted in my life! But they are actually peanut / nut free!!! And if you have allergies, you know how rare it is to find an ice cream shop that is safe!!!! Very cute shop super convenient located almost right between Orange Beach and Gulf Shores off the main strip. If you go by there, tell them Stacy sent you!

Homemade donuts and ice cream! Rotating flavors each day. We got here around 9 am on a Friday. They didn’t have a huge donut selection, but we enjoyed what they did have. We tried maple and chocolate filled glazed. Wish they would’ve had the classic chocolate covered donuts. They had cake donuts but we are just not a huge fan of those. We do want to go back and try the coconut ice cream. The prices are a little high, especially if you have a large family.

It was the fun and colorful building that drew us in and the fun and colorful owner, Pete, that kept us entertained. He only had his home-made ice cream at the time, but man was it good! Locally sourced ingredients and some unique flavors. I had the best toasted coconut ice cream I've ever had. Very well done. The place was spotless and super clean. He had several people come in for donuts so hopefully that will be reconsidered so its available for our return trip next time we're in town. Thanks Pete! Mohalo!
